How Can sharp Stabbing Pain In The Mouth Be Treated?

I am having severe stabing pains in my mouth when
I talk and sometimes when I swallow. I can sleep comfortably without pain but as soon as I get up and start talking or swallowing the pain is back. It feels like a severe shock which happens Either on the left side of my tongue or the roof of my mouth. I had a cat scan done yesterday on my neck and there are no issues there. It seems to b nerve related.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Yes, your symptoms looks more like nerve related problems and it is pointing towards Trigeminal neuralgia..
Trigeminal nerve is the nerve of face and gives innervation to facial structure only..
So my suggestion is to consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated and an MRI of craniofacial region should be done..
If it is Trigeminal neuralgia then neurotic painkillers like Carbamazipine and Gabapantin shall be advised for pain relief..
If pain does not get better with medication then surgical intervention can be done..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
